The X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy community has held conferences since the 1980s. These days, The International XAFS Conference is a triennial meeting for all researchers interested in X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy and related topics. The location of the meeting is proposed by candidate hosts and selected by a vote of the IXAS Executive Committee three years in advance.
