Award nominations are closed for 2022
The IXAS seeks nominations for awards to outstanding individuals working with X-ray absorption spectroscopy. These awards will be given out at the 18th International Conference on X-Ray Absorption and Fine Structure (HYBRID)
The Awards Committee of the International X-ray Absorption Society (IXAS) seeks nomination for three awards. These awards will be presented at the XAFS2022 (18th International Conference on XAFS (https://xafs2022.org/) in Sydney, Australia.
The three awards are:
- The Edward Stern Outstanding Achievement Award: This is the highest award of the International X-ray Absorption Society. Nominations are invited across all disciplinary areas including both experimental and theoretical studies of XAFS. Award: $1000
- The Farrel Lytle Outstanding Young Scientist Award for Theory and Instrumentation: Nominee must have made a remarkable contribution to the field of X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The nominee should be within 9 years of a Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree as of April 1, 2022. Award: $500
- The Dale Sayers Outstanding Young Scientist Awards for Applications of XAFS: Nominee must have made a remarkable contribution to the field of X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The nominee should be within 9 years of a Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree as of April 1, 2022. Award: $500
Nominations should include a CV with a publication list, a letter of recommendation, and academic references who can be contacted for further reference. The deadline for nomination is May 1, 2022.
